Cisco Systems Selects Datacom Systems for Interoperability with Two of its Most Popular Monitoring Technologies

Datacom products are certified by Cisco to provide greater monitoring access and visibility into enterprise networks.

East Syracuse, NY (PRWEB) July 20, 2010

Datacom Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of data capture infrastructure announced today that Cisco Systems, Inc. has certified Datacom Systems network TAPs for interoperability with two popular Cisco technologies – Network Analysis Module (NAM) and Application Deployment Engine (ADE). Cisco certified models of Datacom Systems network taps, including the only link aggregation TAP certified for use with either product, have been included by Cisco in the documentation of both product families.

“We are thrilled that Cisco tested our products and has confirmed our interoperability with their technology”, said Chris Koeneman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Datacom Systems. “For Datacom Systems, it is an honor to work with the worldwide leader in networking, and we believe Cisco’s confidence in our products confirms that our products are of the highest quality.”

SPAN ports are not an optimal solution for providing network visibility. First, SPAN ports can be in short supply as packet forwarding is the primary function of a router. Second, SPAN ports have significant limitations and give an incomplete picture on what is happening on a network. A purpose-built network based on TAPs is often required by Cisco’s customers to provide optimal monitoring access for network monitoring tools. To satisfy these requirements, Cisco selected network TAPs (test access points) from Datacom Systems for certification and inclusion in their documentation. These network TAPs are designed specifically to provide copies of network traffic to network tools such as Cisco’s NAM and ADE.

Datacom Systems sells its products worldwide through a large, growing network of value-added resellers and solution providers. For more information about industry-leading 10Gbs and 1Gbps TAPs, visit www.datacomsystems.com or call 315.463.1585.
